How to create the Vintage French Lifestyle look

Chalk paint has been around for a long time now - with the likes of Annie Sloan dominating the market. We however use a not too dissimilar paint crafted by the wonderous people over at Grand Illusions "Vintage Paint".

For those who are yet to pop into the shop and speak to one of the girls about the paint, it has a much higher chalk percentage at 40% chalk, compared to Annie Sloan which comprises of both chalk and gesso. The result of this is that the Vintage Paint gives not only a much silkier finish, but is also smooth and easy to use.

All of our beautiful pieces showcased online in our furniture section and in the shop have been painted using the Vintage Paint and finished with either grand illusions clear or brown wax or their satin varnish. We think you'll agree that our man in the shed does a fantastic job.

Now, if you haven't been into the shop to get your paint, or not even that, if you are yet to paint a piece of furniture in your home, then where have you been and what have you been doing with yourself! So if you're late to the party then let us give you a helping hand. We are launching our first paint course on Friday August 19th 2016. The course will be conucted by our man in the shed and will run from 10.30am - 4pm. If we didnt already have you at that, then there will be lunch included. Yes. You heard correctly. Lunch.

If you are intrerested in participating in one of our paint courses then please get in touch via the website or give us a call on 01604 713227.

The course is £65 per person, including lunch and the item you paint to take away with you.
